The Blue Green Alliance is a partnership of labor unions and environmental organizations dedicated to expanding job growth in an emerging green economy. The Alliance is in step with millions of Americans who have seen the evidence: The expansion of clean energy and clean energy technology will create good, sustainable jobs in America. And studies have also shown that comprehensive national climate legislation will not benefit the coasts at the expense of the heartland. This message provides one of the most effective tools in promoting clean energy legislation in those states hardest hit by the recession.

The Compound has profiled workers in Ohio, Kansas, Missouri, Texas, North Carolina and Pennsylvania. We can say from experience that there is no better spokesperson for clean energy than a worker standing at his or her station on an active, vibrant manufacturing floor.

By allowing American workers to speak for themselves, the story of American clean energy as a job creator is verifiable. It’s authentic. It was a tool proven effective in the passage of clean energy legislation in the House in 2009 and it will be employed by our agency with laser-like focus as the Senate looks at a similar bill in 2010.
